Travis Wampler comes to Sodoro Law Group as the newest insurance defense attorney after 16 years in the Douglas County Public Defender’s Office. He brings extensive experience in criminal litigation to the firm, with significant success in court under his belt.

Wampler has handled a variety of criminal cases, from DUIs to homicides, trying numerous cases to a jury verdict and two to outright acquittals. He has tried dozens more cases to the bench, both in county and district court and has litigated over 100 pretrial motions before trial courts. He has argued twice before the Nebraska Court of Appeals and the Nebraska Supreme Court.

In addition to his time spent in court, Wampler has a deep background in diligently fighting for his clients outside of a trial. He has briefed approximately 20 cases to the Nebraska Court of Appeals and negotiated thousands of plea agreements to keep his clients from the uncertainty of trial.

“We are incredibly excited to have such an experienced and talented attorney on the team,” said Patrick J. Sodoro, Managing Partner. “Travis’ tenacity and passion will be a true asset to our firm and our clients.”

Wampler is currently licensed to practice law in Nebraska and has a pending bar application in both Missouri and Iowa. He was previously licensed to practice law in Oregon.

Wampler earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Nebraska Omaha, where he was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society. He then earned his Juris Doctor degree with distinction from the University of Nebraska College of Law, where he also earned a CALI award in Jurisprudence.

Outside of his career, Wampler enjoys reading, cooking, photography and spending time with his wife, Kate, and their son. He’s a devoted Kansas City Royals fan, attending a few games each season, win or lose. As a loyal UNO alumnus, he also enjoys attending the university’s hockey, soccer and baseball games.
